Most marketers know that it is important to get the conversation going on social media.  Engaging your fan base is critical for multiple reasons.  It helps your brand stick in their minds, it often increases how much of your content they see (Facebook in particular), and it gets your brand in front of their friends on social media.  So how can a business engage fans?

Leveraging pop culture is a great way to achieve this.  Referencing current events, music icons, holidays, seasonal items, etc. can  peak the interest of your fan base.  If you can tie the pop culture item to your brand in some way, even better!

Intriguing and engaging your fan base and followers is huge.  When someone likes a post or comments on a post on Facebook, it shows in their friends’ news ticker.  When they share a post, it shows in their friends’ news feed.  This puts your brand in front of more eyes, and at a low cost.  Plus, what better way to attract a new fan than to have their friends interacting with your brand?
